About me

Do you need a safe space to share what is currently going on in your world? As a dedicated and compassionate counsellor, I am committed to helping individuals navigate life's challenges and find their path to healing and personal growth. My areas of special interest are working with people with military connections and working with teenagers.

There are many different approaches and styles to therapy and counselling, and I fearlessly believe that you should always be guided by two golden rules: Find the approach that works for you and just as important - the therapist. I have not always been a counsellor; I’ve spent a large amount of my working life within the public sector and through my own lived experience I understand how transformative counselling can be.

There are many ways that our body tells us that something is not right: We may feel unfulfilled, stressed or anxious, feel lonely or isolated, bored or confused. It can be unsettling when we experience these feelings, but it is our natural way of alerting us to needing change. As a therapist, I am here to support you through any challenges that you may be facing. Together, we can collaborate to develop strategies that empower you to overcome obstacles, build your resilience and achieve your goals.

Training, qualifications & experience

I specialise in person-centred therapy, I found I gravitated towards this approach as it allows me to use a combination of empathy, active listening and evidence-based practices. The goal is to guide my clients towards self-discovery and meaningful change. Person-centred therapy holds the idea of relationship at the very center of the work we do together - I may offer suggestions or guidance, but ultimately you are the one who chooses where we go and how we get there.

I am constantly professionally developing myself by regularly attending workshops, conferences and seminars to deepen my understanding and refine my skills, particularly in areas I have a special interest in. This commitment allows me to offer the most effective and relevant support to my clients.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
