About me

I understand human beings may lose their way at times, yet I believe in the power for each person to find their own path to 'ultimate health'.

Relationships with others and ourselves are, to say the least, intricate. If you have something troubling you and you are feeling 'stuck', I believe the best place to look is within yourself.
I offer you a warm, boundaried and caring relationship in which you can be autonomous and feel safe, whilst recieving my honest evaluation of why you are not getting what it is you've stated you desire.

I have 12 years experience and use varying skills and theoretical approaches depending on the individual(s) need including:- Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural, Gestalt & Relational.

I am an Accredited member of the BACP and abide by their code of ethics.

I have regular supervision to ensure the work is beneficial and efficient for you the client. I also facilitate a professional development group with affiliate therapists.

I work in a discreet and comfortable room in Basingstoke, Hampshire and currently recieve client referrals from various Hampshire County Council Departments as well as self referrals.
The importance of confidentiality is considered paramount and a clear explanation of my policy is explained to all clients in the beginning of any therapeutic contract.

I believe that the relationship and trust built is an essential element to the therapeutic contract and so I offer a Free 30 minute initial consultation to enable new clients to get a sense of whether myself and my style are best suited to them.

I also offer Eye Movement Desensitization Processing, which is the most researched psychotherapeutic tool to date. It enables clients to process information that has become 'stuck' and then causes emotional or cognitive disturbances, in a shorter term way than normal talking therapy can. please ask for details of this if you are interested.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
