About me
I offer a counselling space for you to express your thoughts, feelings and talk about experiences or worries that are causing you to feel at odds with who you are. I work in a supportive and confidential way to enable you to gain an understanding and work with you to find ways of working towards the goals you want to achieve.
I offer a free initial conversation so we can decide together whether I can offer the support you need and whether we would work well together. I work in a pluralistic way, using a variety of different therapeutic approaches in collaboration with you depending on what you want to achieve. I work either short or long term with clients.
Talking about the difficulties you have can be daunting, especially to someone you have never met before. As a counsellor I understand this, I will listen, not judge and provide a calm space to help you feel supported and empowered to make your own decisions, challenge difficult and negative thoughts and patterns of behaviour to move towards your goal.
Training, qualifications & experience
- I am a pluralistic counsellor and have been in practice for over 3 years.
- I have a level 5 diploma in therapeutic counselling practice.
- I regularly attend workshops to maintain and enhance my practice, including REWIND therapy and developing self-acceptance with clients.
- I work with adults across a wide range of presenting issues, including anxiety, bereavement, chronic health conditions, relationship issues, stress and trauma.
- I work predominantly in a person-centred way, but incorporate elements of CBT, Psychodynamic therapy and Transactional Analysis into my work.
