About me

I am a trained Counsellor and specialise in private practice work with individuals.  I have a private therapy room in Odiham where I am able to offer a confidential space to talk which is so important for Counselling to work well.

I have gained experience working at various organisations as well, such as Launchpad, Andover Crisis and Support Centre and St Michaels Hospice.  I am able to offer therapy for a variety of presenting issues particularly:-

  • Anxiety
  • Generalised anxiety disorder

  • Sexual and Domestic Abuse

I have eleven years of experience. I qualified in 2011 after making a career change.  I have worked with a variety of issues now. I can offer you a non-judgemental place to talk. In my view, it should always be your choice to come for Counselling.  Please feel free to contact me. The location is easily accessible from the High Street in Odiham. You turn up King Street, and Buryfields is near Buryfields school, there is plenty of parking.

'Counselling is a way of helping people through talking and listening. The client is encouraged to express their feelings and thoughts about their problems so they can understand themselves and their behaviour better and therefore improve ways of coping.'

The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Choosing the right counsellor and psychotherapist can seem like a daunting task. Research evidence indicates that the most important factor in ensuring the best outcome for a client is the quality of the therapeutic relationship with the Counsellor and feeling as though they have connected with him or her. I know from my own experience as a client that the quality of the relationship I have with my therapist is what enables me to do the work I need to do. So, I cannot stress enough how important it is that you feel you are able to trust your Counsellor and to feel safe enough to share things that you may never have talked about before.

I understand that you may not know exactly what you need, you may need help with that. The only thing you may be certain of, is that you want things to change.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
