About me

My name is Karen. Thank you for visiting my profile.

I am an experienced Psychotherapist and Trainer working with, Adults, Children and Young People in Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, and Lincoln. As a Humanistic Psychotherapist, I believe everyone has the capacity to achieve their potential and that no problem is too big or small to ask for help.

Having trained as an integrative psychotherapist, I am able to make use of a range of models and approaches to therapy. I place a great deal of emphasis on the need for a therapeutic relationship between us. It is through this open and honest relationship with the client being treated with respect, acceptance and understanding that change can begin.

I have been working as a psychotherapist for over 9 years. I have experience working as a Psychotherapist for a Charitable organisation working in secondary schools and GP surgeries, in the Private Sector counselling Clients aged 4 – 82 and in private practice. I work to the ethical framework and guidelines of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy). I attend regular professional supervision and I am committed to Continued Professional Development.

I approach therapy by combining my training, professional and life experience with compassion to provide counselling and therapy in a welcoming, confidential, and non-judgemental environment. By offering you my full presence in a mutual, transparent, and real way, providing a safe welcoming space where you are free to voice and explore your fears, anxieties and vulnerabilities in confidence.

If you looking to make a positive change in your life and wondering how to achieve this? Seeking a therapist with whom you are at ease, will be the first positive step towards making that change.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
