About me

Are you feeling anxious or depressed?
Are painful memories from your past upsetting you?
Have you experienced a loss or bereavement and finding it difficult to cope?

About Me

Hello and welcome to my page. I'm a qualified counsellor with 9 years of experience and I have a special interest in anxiety and depression. The way I work as a Humanistic Counsellor is not to direct you, but to talk and listen as we workout together what has brought you to counselling. I can help to alleviate any distress or difficulties you are facing. It may be something from your past or present, your feelings or emotions, how you are in relationships, your patterns or behaviour and the way you think. If you decide to work with me, I will never make you talk about anything that is too distressing, nor do I give you advice. I believe all the answers are within you. You don't necessarily need to be in any kind of crisis to attend, it maybe you are feeling underwhelmed in life or stuck and not not knowing where you are heading.

I'm currently offering online and telephone counselling due to Covid-19 and work with adults aged 18 and over. I hope to return to face to face sessions in the near future. Sessions are offered on a short-term or long-term basis. The therapy room is based near to the City Centre of Leeds, close to The Calls and The Tetley Car Park. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, meaning I adhere to a set of fundamental values, and work ethically and safely with clients. The Ethical Framework can be found on the BACP website.

I have extensive experience working with adults aged 18 and over from different cultures and diverse backgrounds with a range of issues and problems including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Relationship Issues
  • Loss & Bereavement
  • Self Harm
  • Abuse

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
