About me
Are you feeling anxious, depressed or suffering from burnout?
Hello, I'm Karen and I'm a counsellor. I have 15 years experience and specialise in Anxiety and Depression. My background includes working in a busy counselling service in Leeds, before setting up in private practice in 2014. I can help you
- To talk through and process any thoughts, feelings and difficult or traumatic experiences you've been through.
- I work at your pace and will gently help you to challenge and reframe negative thoughts or views you have about yourself or any fears you're experiencing
- We can work together to find the right coping skills that are tailored to you and will help you feel calmer, confident and more self aware.
- If you're feeling stuck, lost or isolated, we can explore why and how we can change them.
- If anxiety is affecting your sleep or daily functioning, we can help you to discover new habits and practices for you. We can work on improving your sleep hygiene and ways for you to relax with any activities that may interest you to help reduce your stress levels.
Please get in touch for a free 15 minute phone call or to book in a session. You can do this by phone call, text, send a message through this page or my website. I look forward to hearing from you
Chronic Illness| Pain & Fatigue
Do you have a chronic illness/health condition? I have experience and a special interest in this area and I can support you to live a better life with chronic pain or fatigue.
- We can talk through and process the loss of your identity, the old you, and any anger and sadness you're feeling.
- Help you to feel less isolated and accept your illness.
- Find a new zest for life and help you to achieve the things you want.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
