About me
I believe that each client requires an individual and tailored counselling approach.
I provide a professional and confidential counselling service in Leigh-on-Sea & Southend-on-Sea. I work in an integrative way, using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, EMDR,Transactional Analysis and Person Centred approaches. I think it is important to tailor my approach to the needs of the individual as I do not believe that one approach is appropriate for everyone.
I am experienced in working with children and teenagers as well as adults. Whether you need help to deal with anxiety, panic attacks, anger, low self-esteem or confidence. I also work with bereavement and loss, addiction, co-dependence, confidence, self esteem, domestic abuse, health anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and family or relationship problems.
I offer a mindfulness program if required and a range of alternative health coaching, I have a holistic approach to health. I am trained in Supervision and work for Mind along side with my personal Practise.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) member Counsellor/Psychotherapist (www.bacp.co.uk). I work within the BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. I did not become a counsellor until I was in my early forties, having spent 20 years working in Banking and finance and the health industries. This means that I am able to bring a wealth of life experience to my counselling work, which I believe is very important for a counsellor. I currently have a private practice in Leigh-on-Sea and Southend-on-Sea in Essex and have experience working as a Counsellor in a Secondary School for children. I also have worked with ex-offenders and addicts with the 12 step program, I offer a mindfulness program if required and a range of alternative health coaching, I have a holistic approach to the mind and body.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
