About me

Have you ever felt like life's problems are too much? That things seem to be going from bad to worse and no one quite understands your feelings? Counselling can often provide a safe space for you to discuss whatever's on your mind without being judged.

You may be feeling stressed, anxious, having problems with an addiction or maybe your relationship has hit a rough patch.

Many people can associate with one or more of these problems and may not have the answers or techniques needed to improve a situation. I believe having a safe space to express your thoughts and feelings can help make sense of what’s happening and help you live a happier life.

I am a qualified psychotherapist with 10 years of experience and extensive training in how to support people. What’s discussed in the room is strictly confidential and provides you with the opportunity to discuss your life experiences in a non-judgemental, empathic environment. I won’t offer advice but assist in taking action toward your goals and what’s important to you. The key difference is that the session is all about you and your well-being.

It's important my clients feel comfortable within sessions. I work in a humanistic, confidential, client-centered way to help you explore problematic areas and support you moving forward. Displaying warmth is important to me as it often sets the tone for the therapeutic relationship.

I offer long-term or short-term face-to-face work as well as online sessions.

I can’t guarantee my style of therapy will suit your taste but I’d like the chance to work with you if:

  • You want to make a change
  • You’re willing to invest the time to make it happen
  • You’re prepared to put in the work with my support

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
