Kanta Crane MAHPP UKCP Accredited and registered
I'm a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor with over 25 years experience of helping people to explore the tangles, puzzles, unwanted recurrences, mysterious illnesses and sorrows in their lives. During this time I've worked with a wide range of human issues.
How we interact with other people, be they casual or close relationships, is often indicative of our unconscious expectations and beliefs about how the world of humans works and what our place is in it. These beliefs are often formed from our experience of relationship with our earliest caregivers. Sometimes this works well and we are able to live fulfilling lives and have satisfying relationships. When it's not working well, e.g. cherished relationships breaking down, loneliness, problematic behaviours, inability to progress in our work etc.etc., is the time when psychotherapy and counselling may help us to understand and process how we live in the world, aiming to lead to a place of more awareness, choice and self-agency.
I'm especially interested and experienced in working with developmental and relational trauma, PTSD, depression, grief, feelings of emptiness, behavioural and substance addictions, relational problems, obsessive behaviour, anxiety disorders, stress, panic and anger.
I work in a relational and collaborative way and clients have said that they generally find me easy to talk to and a good listener.
I guarantee confidentiality and provide a safe and containing space to explore whatever is troubling you.
I can offer either ongoing psychotherapy and counselling or brief focused therapy for a particular incident or issue. I suggest an initial mutual assessment session for us to meet and decide if and how to go forward.
