About me
I am an experienced psychotherapist in practice since 2019, specialising in supporting individuals with chronic and persistent pain, Long Covid, chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), migraines, other nervous system-related conditions, and persistent anxiety. Having personally experienced the challenges of Long Covid, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work. I understand the complexities of navigating a debilitating illness and offer compassionate, evidence-based support to those struggling with these conditions.
What to Expect
My therapeutic approach is targeted and individualised, with a strong focus on nervous system regulation. I integrate a blend of DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) skills, mindfulness-based therapy, somatic psychology, creative psychotherapy, and inner child work. As a SIRPA-informed practitioner, having completed Level 1 & 2 training with the Stress Illness Recovery Practitioners’ Association (SIRPA), I emphasise the mind-body connection in therapy. From the very first session, you will take away practical tools to help regulate your nervous system. My goal is to help you understand and recognise the “language” of your body and equip you with effective strategies to respond to it.
I also incorporate creative tools into therapy to support deeper insight and self-reflection. These approaches are introduced sensitively and only when appropriate, ensuring you feel comfortable exploring your experiences at your own pace. My practice is rooted in a compassionate, collaborative approach, helping you reconnect with your body, process your experiences, and develop practical strategies for improving your well-being.
My Experience
With extensive experience in the mental health field, I have worked across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings. In my most recent role as a Senior Psychological Therapist, I established a specialist service providing psychological support for individuals with persistent pain and symptoms. I also delivered training to healthcare professionals on this subject and worked closely with medical teams to ensure a holistic, trauma-informed approach to treatment.
