Kaiqing Yang, MA (Counselling & Psychotherapy), MBACP
I know reaching out for counselling might be a daunting step to take, but it will be worth it.
Counselling is not only about fixing a broken life, it is also about improving and flourishing. It is not about changing the environment we are in, but preparing us with the confidence and power we need to face and deal with the possible future situations.
My style of counselling is all about empowering people. I won't pressure you to tell me things you're not ready to mention. But I will help you to understand yourself and make positive changes at your own pace.
My approach is person-centred. Unlike many counsellors I offer you not just my services but the backup and support of a professional, multicultural, counselling partnership: https://www.abbottandyang.co.uk . I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy ("MBACP"), and a member of the British Association for the Person-Centred Approach.
I have a Master's degree (with merit) in Person-Centred Counselling & Psychotherapy from Nottingham University. I counsel adults (inc. students) in Nottingham, Loughborough and online. I see people with many kinds of troubles and "well" people who simply want more positivity or direction in their lives. As well as my private practice, I've also counselled at a Derby women's service and several Nottingham colleges.
Where I work
I counsel from professional therapy rooms close to both Nottingham and Loughborough city centres. I also offer online counselling and by arrangement at other venues convenient to you.
My office address, for written correspondence, is on Nottingham University’s Jubilee Campus.
