About me

I provide a safe, calm confidential space to help you to talk through, understand and process your thoughts and feelings to enable and empower you to move through whatever difficulties and problems are weighing you down or stopping you enjoying your life. I am trained to support you whilst you work through difficult feelings that may otherwise be overwhelming if dealt with alone. I have many years experience of helping people of all ages and a variety of backgrounds with a multitude of issues. My basic intention with clients is to help them to feel empowered to re-find or to find for the first time, the confidence, self-esteem and agency to get back in the driving seat of their lives. I will provide an oasis in your week where you can feel at ease to explore whatever you want or need to feel better about yourself and your life.

I am also a qualified eco-coach which means I can offer basic outdoor counselling either stationary by an open fire or on the move through a pre-explored natural setting. This is often helpful if a client suffers from claustrophobic conditions or who finds the counselling room setting too intense or confrontational.

Training, qualifications & experience

Level 2 Certificate in Psychodynamic Counselling from Leicester University,

Level 4 Diploma in Humanistic Counselling (specialising in Person Centered Counselling)

from Independent Counselling Training in Bedford.

Two Day CPD course in Eco-Coaching and Therapy from Awaken School (Lisa de Rijk)-which allows me to offer Eco-Coaching.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I find that a lot of peoples issues stem from a highly developed inner critical nature. People who are struggling to make or maintain relationships, have social anxiety or are struggling to succeed in general are often highly critical or mentally abusive to themself. I work with a Compassion Focussed element in my work which has a high success rate with people who are highly self critical.

£40 an hour waged.

£25 an hour unwaged (proof of benefit etc required)

Further information

Spirituality is often an element of a person's life that they feel they cannot discuss in counselling. I am open to this element of people's lives as I believe although some issues are more pragmatic, there are areas of people's existences that are less tangible and often they will be outside the area that a lot of people are comfortable exploring. I am open and confident to explore any area that you as a client wish to explore.
