Julie Yates MBACP (Accred)
Sometimes the hardest part of counselling is getting started; if you’re reading this then you’ve already taken a step forward. Welcome to my profile page, I hope I can help you with what you’re looking for.
My name is Julie and I’m an integrative counsellor and supervisor. This means that rather than working from a single theoretical model, I am able to combine several therapeutic approaches in order to find the most helpful way to work with each individual.
Counselling offers the opportunity to talk through situations, understand and express feelings. You can expect a comfortable, safe and relaxed space where we can develop a therapeutic relationship built on trust and respect. Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, I'll listen and support you towards finding clarity and making the changes you need. We can look at alternative coping strategies and practical solutions if you wish.
If you are interested to find out more, you can ring or email me to talk about what you may want to get out of counselling; if you are happy to continue we can arrange an introductory face-to-face session. Generally, people benefit most from having weekly sessions; the frequency and number of sessions needed varies between individuals. I offer an introductory/assessment session at a reduced fee which allows us to decide together what your needs are and to discuss an appropriate way forward.
I am fully insured and have an up to date DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly CRB).
I am a registered, accredited member of the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to the BACP Ethical Framework: http://www.bacp.co.uk/ethical_framework/
