My name is Julie I am a qualified person centred counsellor. I am a member of British Association of Practitioners and Psychotherapists. I offer a free initial 3min consultation after which you are under no obligation to continue therapy with me.
Although I am person centred taught I work with a range of therapies and techniques, I respect that each client is an individual so I prefer to use an integrative approach tailored to the individual, their needs and situation etc. I feel I am a warm, non judgemental person and am able to help a client feel safe, valued and really listened to without fear of judgement
I have extensive experience working with clients of all ages and backgrounds. Many of whom were suffering from a wide range of issues, some had past trauma and issues that were now having an impact on their daily life. Feeling anxious, low mood, depression, panic attacks. these are things that can make life so hard just to function day to day.
I have helped clients who have been subjected to abuse, both physical and mentally. I can also help clients who have relationship issues such as divorce/separation anxiety.

It is very daunting to have counselling for the first time, just to find the building, walk -in and meet the counsellor, that is why I offer a free half hour consultation with no obligation because to me the most important thing is that you feel at ease and accepted and are able to talk with me openly, that you do not have the feeling you are being judged or bossed about, your worries trivialised or dismissed, for the counselling process to work you need to feel you being really listened to and understood by a genuine person.
I have also researched in depth and attended seminars on different personality disorders, such as co-dependants, sociopaths etc. I understand how hard it can be for a person to overcome if they have been a victim to for instance to narcissist abuse and manipulation. Having this knowledge I do not trivialise how difficult moving on can be. there are so many thoughts and scenarios that happened that you could be finding it hard to come to terms with, but with help and support a client perhaps for the first time may can explore his/her feelings. Many people who have suffered from this and many other painful events understandingly may be very scared to confront them. I feel I can help a client come to their own realisations and resolve in a safe environment in their own time without being forced in any way, this will then enable them to live a happier more fulfilled life.
