Julie Mulligan BACP Accredited Counsellor
Hi I am Julie and welcome to my page. Need to talk about how your feeling? Need someone to listen? If you want your life to be different its about doing it differently and I believe at times you might need support to get through difficult periods in your life because it can be hard.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is essential, as it is oftentimes the first setting in which you share your most intimate thoughts, beliefs, and emotions regarding the issue(s) in question. As such, it is very important that I provide a safe, open, and non-judgmental space where you as an individual can be at ease.
I offer an integrative approach based on 12 year’s experience which means I combine different approaches, to tailor my counselling style to meet your needs. It’s more like having a tool box with lots of different tools in it and using the one that works best for you in the session. I also work with couples who are experiencing a 'stuckness' in their relationship, or are having difficulty in moving past certain issues.
Want to talk things through due to experiencing anxiety, a bereavement, relationship, family issues and understand what’s actually happening to you. You may want to learn how to communicate in a more effective way or how to deal with emotions that cause you problems like anger or depression.
What to expect: I provide a safe, comfortable and confidential environment, offering warmth, understanding and a non-judgemental space for you to just be. I aim to help you to gain control over certain areas of your life that you may be unhappy with or uncertain about. Together, we can help you live the life that you deserve and get to a place where you are happy to be.
I offer a free initial 30 minute assessment by telephone to ensure that we are both confident that we can work together and will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have.
This initial assessment is free of charge and I offer daytime, evening and weekend appointments.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me and here is some other information that you might find helpful.
