About me

Hello, I'm Julie,  I really appreciate you taking the time to look at my page.  Life can be challenging at times and can make you feel alone, depressed, anxious, sad or overwhelmed. You may feel stuck, and have a sense that your life isn't as you want it, there may be things from your past that you would like to tackle, or there may be things in the present you may want to try and change.

Do you need to talk about how you are feeling, need someone to listen? I believe you have the answers within you, and if, and when you are ready, giving this focus to your feelings can help you to gain greater self-awareness...ultimately feel happier, and more in control of your life.

In our lifetime, we will all experience difficult and challenging times where we feel we need that extra support, and sometimes it is hard to talk to family and friends and you just need that one person who takes the time to listen and that's where I, as a counsellor can help.

The decision to come to counselling can be a huge step. If you’re wondering whether counselling is for you, please call or email me for a chat. We both need to ensure that we’re confident we can work together. This will also give you the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have.

You are unique. This includes your history, your experiences, your reactions to events, your thoughts and most importantly your feelings. In today's society we are encouraged to bottle up our feelings and told to “snap out of it”. Dismissing those thoughts and feelings doesn't make them disappear, ignored feelings will always find another way to grab our attention.

I am a fully qualified, Person Centred Counsellor, with over 13 years’ experience working with children, young people, adults and couples.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.


British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Supervision £50 (1.5 hrs).
