About me

 I am an Art Therapist with 25 + years experience, a  Supervisor and Accredited Mindfulness Teacher. Art Therapy crosses boundaries of language and communication, helping you to explore your issues in a creative and  relaxed way and is suitable for anyone from 4 - 104yrs. No previous art skills are needed for art therapy to be of benefit to you. 

 I work with a wide range of problems: Anxiety, Generalised Anxiety Disorder,Self confidence, Low Self Esteem, Depression, Social Anxiety, School Anxiety, Anger Management,  Bereavement, Loss and Separation Anxiety, Family Issues, Travel Phobias, PTSD, Trauma, Chronic illness, ME & Chronic Fatigue, people recovering from Strokes Parent& Child reconciliations.

I  also work with qualified therapists and students in training as a therapist/Supervisor and have 24 years experience of Supervising creative practitioners in the UK and Abroad. .

Training, qualifications & experience

I was previously Head Art Therapist at a Birmingham Charity until 2020 for 26 years.

I work with organisations online and face to face and have worked in over 50+ schools in Birmingham, in prisons, hospices, secure homes for people with severe Autism or learning difficulties, with children and adults with Sensory needs. I have set up Art Therapy in Brain Injury Hospitals,  for Domestic Violence Projects, with young sex offenders for the probation service and with individuals with complex physical disabilities or with adults in  life crises, with alcohol or drug addiction, depression and anxiety. 

A tutor of relaxation for 30+years,  I now use my 2020 training as an Accredited Mindfulness Now Teacher in my sessions, creating a sense of calm and well being for people.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

I charge £50.00 per individual 50 min  therapy session but am open to negotiation if you fall into one of the concession categories - please do contact me, don't be put off by the fee. 

Workshops can be planned around your needs/budget and location.

I use therapy spaces at  Birmingham Buddhist Centre, B13 which has a peaceful quiet ambience. There is a waiting area, accessible toilets and a kitchen area where you can make drinks or bring your own food or refreshments. There is a small car park, with disability spaces and plenty of on street parking usually. It has easy access to bus stops and Moseley village with cafes and shops.  It is 15 minutes from Birmingham City Centre.
