Julia Woods MBACP Dip Therapeutic Counselling CBT Psychotherapy & PC
Hi, and thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. Looking for a counsellor can be a little daunting and so here's some information about me; that way you have a better idea if I'm the right counsellor for you.
I am an experienced Integrative Counsellor meaning I am qualified and experienced in three areas of therapy; these are Psychotherapy (looking into who we are and why/issues from childhood or the past which have shaped us), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, (talking about our core beliefs and thoughts, how these shape our behaviour and looking at ways to change those cognitions by integrating new more positive ones) and Person-Centred (the here and now).
I offer face to face as well as telephone and online counselling (messenger or video call). The latter works well for those who are busy or who may be struggling to get out to see a counsellor.
I pride myself on being highly empathic, warm and approachable as well as offering unconditional positive regard, a non judgemental approach and confidentiality.
These are my personal morals and qualities as well as being the foundation of the ethical framework and standards of the BACP (British Association of Counsellors & Psychotherapists) of which I am a member.

I have worked with clients on both time limited or ongoing counselling sessions and am happy to work with both.
I feel it's most beneficial to my clients to set a definite regular weekly time (most employers support this and many are happy to fund employee counselling for a set number of sessions after an initial assessment) however I appreciate that life can get in the way and things change.
I will try to set appointments to suit you and rearrange where possible, however I appreciate as much notice as possible if this is the case as I can then offer the session to other clients.
I look forward to hearing from you.
