About me

Hello, I'm Julia, I am a Person-Centred counsellor who offers a warm, safe and supportive space for you to explore any emotional difficulties and issues that you may be experiencing right now.

I believe counselling can be beneficial to everyone. I am open to working a wide range of issues and welcome clients from diverse backgrounds.

Therapy is not always an easy journey. I am here to walk with you, with you leading the pace. You are welcome to get in touch with any questions, more information about me and how I work can also be found on my website.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Adolescent Counselling
  • Level 5 Higher Professional Diploma in Counselling.
  • Level 4 Certificate in Substance Abuse.

I currently am undertaking a MA in Integrative in Child Psychotherapy to deepen and expand my knowledge and experience of working with children.

I have worked extensively with interpersonal abuse and violence. I also have experience working with loss, bereavement, sexual abuse, low self-esteem, anxiety, anger, relationship issues. In addition to my work with adults, I work in schools with primary school aged children, using play therapy.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

I offer a free initial 15mins consultation - please get in touch to arrange..

Margate; sessions are £65 an hour for adults and children. I occasionally travel to a school to see your child, if that location is outside of Thanet the fee is £75.

London; sessions are £70.00. However, I have one space available for a reduced rate of £60.00, please contact me for further details.
