Julia Kaya -Kaya Counselling Psychotherapy, Supervision And Training Services
I am a member of the BACP accredited register and National council of Psychotherapist (NCP).
The mind and body are not separate, but together so if one is not working so well it can impact on the other. Mental well-being is paramount to how we are in the world. I am passionate about my work and work with you in partnership to help you find your mental wellbeing. From birth to adulthood, we all have experiences which influence on our lives. Sometimes experiences can have a negative unhealthy impact on our minds, which can lead to effecting our bodies. Generally we 'cope' and 'manage to get on with life', but sometimes life becomes more of a struggle. It is well documented 'a healthy mind helps a healthy body and since you have only one isn't it worth looking after? Cause if you don't who will?
I specialise with addictions, trauma (type 1 and 2) and PTSD (see website for more details of conditions/ effects). Although, I specialise in addictions and Trauma, I have a wide scale of experience working with other issues (see more information below). During my 13 years experience of working as a counselling psychotherapist I have learned different ways of working (integrative) as 'one size does not fit all'!
I supervise students and counsellors for agencies in Shrewsbury and Telford.
I am staff counsellor for a local charity based in Shrewsbury.
I have developed and delivered training at Telford College and various agencies. I will bespoke training to meet the needs of the participants.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

The impact of the addiction and/or Trauma on the mind and body can lead to problems with relationships, financial, job loss, grief, anxiety, depression, phobias, OCD, agitation, self harm, eating disorders, panic attacks, lack of sleeping, nightmares, hallucinations, flashbacks, lack of concentration, Anger issues, intense stress, lack of confidence and self esteem, feelings of worthless, emptiness and uncertain of self are just some of symptoms (the list is too extensive and everyone reacts differently) So it is not only addictions and trauma I am experienced working with.
At our first meeting, we will assess to make sure I am the right person for you. Assessment is continuous throughout the sessions as I will adapt the way I work to meet your needs.
