I am Julia, I am very interested in you and your concerns. I really want to help you feel better.
How would I do that ?
Firstly, you will find me approachable, good humored and caring. I am also very experienced. I provide you with a cosy, quiet, relaxing, & confidential room where we can think about and talk through what you are finding difficult in your life.
I will not tell you what to do, but I will help you to find the answers for yourself.
I have a special interest in people who are struggling with workplace stress, burnout, exhaustion and compassion fatigue.
I want to help you feel better, less worried, feel less depressed, to be able to go to work and enjoy it. I want to know you are able to enjoy your friends, hobbies and family life again.
In your weekly appointment I will treat you with respect, compassion and without judgement.

I have worked as a District Nurse, followed by 12 years as a Community Macmillan
During this time I have found caring for people and their families nearing
the end of their lives challenging, but rewarding. I decided to develop my knowledge and skills in supporting them psychologically at this difficult time in their lives. This led me onto training in counselling therapy.
As a result I am now able to help those who are having other difficulties their lives.
My Counselling Experience
I am an experienced counsellor working extensively in my private practice. I receive regular supervision to ensure my practice is safe and effective.
As a result of my counselling experience and regular updating I have been awarded Senior Accreditation with the National Counselling Society
Recent CPD includes anger management, PTSD, Vicarious trauma & compassion fatigue
My Psychodynamic counselling approach
This involves taking a deeper look at the significant relationships experienced in your early years. How these may be impacting on your current relationships and possibly contributing to your current emotional difficulties.
I have undertaken basic training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
I am confident and familiar in working with people who are experiencing:- loss, depression, anxiety, low self esteem, relationship difficulties, stress and bereavement.
I am a Senior Accredited member of National Counselling Society (NCS) and I adhere to their code of ethics.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I am also able to help any professional who is finding it hard to cope, and wants to find a way back to achieving a healthy work life balance.
My fees are £50 for a 50minute session.
Your sessions are weekly and at a regular time. This is your space and time so will not be available to anyone else for as long as you want to come. I will see you on time, every time.
I can be flexible if you are working shifts.
Evening & Daytime appointments are currently available.
I am able to reduce my fee for counselling students.
During your initial assessment we will talk and discover if we can work well together. If you decide that my approach is not for you then there will be no pressure to continue with me.

During the current pandemic why not consider counselling via Zoom or FaceTime?
Although face to face therapy is often the preferred way online certainly does have its advantages.
With social isolation currently restricting travelling, you can join me from wherever is most convenient for you. You will need to able to access some privacy and ensure you have your sessions without interruptions.
If your work pattern is unpredictable and you work unsocial hours, then we can still meet online for regular therapy sessions.
