I am Julia Cole, a MBACP Senior Accredited Psychotherapist/Counsellor with 30 years experience of counselling in a variety of settings, including the Royal Navy, NHS, The London and Wessex Havens, a cancer charitable service, Priory Hospital group and private practice. I specialise in relationship concerns, anxiety and stress, military issues including PTSD, adjusting to cancer diagnosis and recovery, on-line therapy, bereavement and mild to moderate eating problems.
I also offer counselling supervision, specialising in relationship and couple issues.
Training, qualifications & experience
I originally trained with Relate and have their Certificate in Couple and Relationship Counselling (1994). I then further trained as a Psychosexual Therapist, gaining the Relate Diploma in Psychosexual Therapy. (1996).
I trained as a Relate Supervisor, qualifying in 1995, in this discipline. Since my original training with Relate I have undertaken training in EMDR (Practitioner Level 1), CBT, Mindfulness, On-Line Therapy (Certificate Level 3), and am a qualified Licensed Practitioner for 'Understanding Your Eating' Ltd.
I have also written 8 books on relationship and couple issues, including the best seller 'After the Affair', updated in 2010 to take account of the growing use of social media.

I charge £50 per 50 minute session.
A 30 minute initial session is £25, allowing for an exploration of the suitability of counselling.
I practice from a dedicated room in my house on Hayling Island and also use rooms in the Royal Maritime Club, Portsmouth. Both have nearby parking, and are confidential and comfortable rooms.
