About me

Remotely/ Online working currently- Zoom/ Skype/ FaceTime etc. video links & telephone counselling. Also now offering FACE to FACE  TUESDAYS in ST NEOTS
You are here because you or someone you know needs support and help, don't delay! You can feel better!

I provide a safe and confidential environment where I can help you to explore any issues which are causing you distress. I am experienced in working with ANXIETY/PANIC, Depression & PTSD (Rewind practioner), and how these affect our relationships.  You may require short term sessions, or you may feel you would like to explore deeper issues; here I can provide longer-term counselling. I am also experienced in working with loss and bereavement both in hospice and community settings.

I am also trained in hypnotherapy- I can offer relaxation techniques and help you to find coping strategies that work for you. I use a wider approach where together we can look at different ways which will support and help you to cope with or alleviate your distress.

I am a qualified Life Coach so I might help you move forward with your life/work/relationships.

Alongside my experience of working with traumatised clients I studied use of The Rewind Technique under Dr David Muss in London (Rewind founder Dr David Muss who works with war veterans and other severely traumatised individuals). I am currently studying an evidence-based method EMDR,  used within NHS settings to help those experiencing symptoms of PTSD (eg flash backs, night terrors, bodily sensations, & relationship difficulties etc.) Expected qualification Sept 2021.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and believe firmly in providing an ethical and confidential counselling service. I am an experienced Health & Social Care practitioner specialising in mental health issues. I have experience working in primary care settings taking GP referrals from people with life and relationship difficulties causing issues such as depression, anxiety, panic and OCD (obsessive compulsion). I have also worked successfully with Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome and victims of crime and trauma. My work with loss and bereavement was gained through my experience of working within a hospice setting and the wider community supporting patients and their family and friends.
Alongside private practice, I also work in an NHS setting; I provide clinical supervision to registered health practitioners(NHS) and also to fellow counsellors and psychotherapists.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
