About me

About Me
During the current situation regarding COVID-19, sessions are offered by video call or telephone with some face to face sessions available. Please contact me for further details.

Ever wonder if you could actually get through the stuff that’s keeping you from feeling good about yourself and your life? A Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, and Registered Member of The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), located in Wilmslow, I offer you a warm acceptance.  In a safe, non-judgemental space, together I can support you to explore personal issues or emotions, past experiences or difficult relationships, helping you to discover what’s going on for you.

My passionate belief is that everyone has the potential to change their lives in meaningful ways with the right support and conditions. A bit like a plant needs water, sunlight and food to grow and reach its potential!

As an Integrative Counsellor with a Person-Centred approach, I can tailor therapy to meet your specific needs. In counselling, we may discuss your past or the ways you relate to others.  We may look at your self-concept, reasons for anxiety or for feeling low and explore patterns that may be troubling you.  I specialise in self-esteem struggles and areas where our sense of self impacts our well-being.

I welcome you to come, just as you are.

Getting Started
I appreciate making that initial contact can be challenging. To help, I offer a free initial telephone chat to answer any concerns or questions about the counselling process you may have and help you to decide if I am the right therapist for you.

My answerphone is completely confidential, I may be with other clients when you call, so please do leave a message and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

My Motivation

People are individuals who have had life experiences often beyond their control that have shaped them in unique ways. None of us chose our genetic make-up, or the environment we grew up in, which can affect the beliefs we hold about ourselves and have an impact on driving distress.

Reaching out for support takes tremendous courage and a commitment to invest in yourself to work towards the positive changes you want to make in your life. Keeping it together can be challenging at times. No one is immune to the difficulties life throws our way. My motivation to support you as a therapist comes from my genuine interest in you and your life experiences. I appreciate the deep connections made with my clients together with the humbling privilege of sharing what it means to be human in a therapeutic relationship.
