About me

Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, sad, angry, lost?  There can be times in our lives when we struggle to cope.  When our problems seem just too challenging to manage. Life can be so hard, but you don't have to cope alone. Speaking with family and friends can help, but sometimes the issues we are experiencing are not easy to talk about with the people we know. This is when professional counselling can help.

I  offer you a safe space in a confidential , non-judgemental, empathic environment to help you unravel your thoughts.    My priority is to build a trusting, open relationship which will enable you to be who you truly are, feel heard and understood.

Whatever your concerns may be, I take them very seriously and  offer a warm acceptance of all you bring to enable us to work together to reach solutions, meaning and better ways of being.

THAT FIRST STEP
In my professional training I sat in the client' chair and remember only too well how daunting it can be to embark upon the counselling journey. My lasting memories of that experience are of being free to be myself, of feeling safe and supported in a nurturing counselling relationship.  Now, I find it immensely rewarding and a privilege to help somebody feel better and perhaps to achieve something they needed to do.

"The first step towards change is acceptance. Once you accept yourself you open the door to change.  Change is not something you do, it is something you allow"
Will Garcia.

If there is anything you are unsure on, please contact me to discuss your concerns. I offer a no-fee initial telephone or on line consultation.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
