About me

I have worked as a counsellor for over 23 years and provide my clients with counselling from a comfortable, peaceful, private room in Clevedon. I offer long term and short term counselling for individuals from the age of 15 upwards.

You will be offered a safe, respectful non judgemental environment where trust can be built up and you can work through your issues at your own pace and in complete confidence.

I am calm, warm and approachable and view all my clients as individuals with their own unique story.

I have worked with clients of both sexes from all backgrounds and walks of life and am open and flexible in my approach, believing that you should feel free to use your sessions in the way that feels best for you, with us working side by side in our aim to explore, clarify and resolve your difficulties.

I have specialist training in domestic abuse issues for women and the trauma of rape and sexual abuse for both men and women. I work as a sessional counsellor in a charity setting as well as in my own practice.

I also have a great deal of experience of working with adolescents and young people due to having previously worked in a college environment and from working with young people who have experienced abuse, for a specialist organisation.

I have completed COSRT training for working with couples and sexual relationships.

I am committed to my ongoing professional development, receive regular supervision, keep up to date with current counselling research and regularly attend training courses, workshops and seminars.

I am fully insured.

My practice room is close to the town centre and near to bus routes and there is on street parking nearby.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
