Judith Erskine UKCP Reg. Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist
Hello, are you finding that you are having difficulties or confusions within your relationships? Interpersonal relationships in our personal or work based relationships can be stressful at times.
Attachment issues can be very complicated and confusing at times. We all need a safe and secure base in which to unravel some of these confusions and to make sense of their impacts upon our adult lives.
I am an attachment-based psychotherapist who has offered help for adults, for over the last 20 years.
I have worked with people with a huge range of psychological difficulties ranging from:
- grief reactions to addictions, family break-ups
- general life issues and concerns
- sexual identity and gender identity.
This is not a comprehensive list nor in any hierarchical order.
I work in such a way that helps us look at past relationships and how they can affect your current ones. As an attachment based therapist we will talk about and reflect back upon your attachment history, which can entail all of your family, school life, early hospitalisations, work and personal relationships etc. We can then think about how your early attachments can and indeed do affect all your adult relationships. Sometimes it may feel like we are just having a 'chat' but amazing things can come about through that so called 'chat'.
In a therapeutic relationship, I like to think that you are the driver and I am the navigator. You decide where you want to go and where you wish to be and I help with the map reading.
None of this is exhaustive; we travel together, in safety and in a compatible frame of mind. That is not to say that we will not discuss the route…
