About me
At some time in our lives, we can feel lonely or stuck because of the challenges life can throw at us. Having support and being heard can help us back on the path to feeling happier and more able to manage difficult times. Are you looking to speak to someone who will be there to listen with kindness and compassion about anything that is troubling you?
What to expect from me
As a qualified and registered therapist with the BACP, it is my hope that together, we can discover what it is that has brought you to therapy and help you find the tools within yourself to live life at its fullest. As an integrative therapist, I am trained in a range of modalities which I will draw upon to best support your needs. I recognise how differently everyone works, and an integrative approach helps to ensure the therapy is best suited for you. Underpinning the counselling work will be a trusting therapeutic relationship, and you will be met with warmth, kindness and respect.
I believe that given the right conditions, you can reach your full potential because we all have an instinctive drive towards growth and each of us have the resources within ourselves for this. With me, you can explore your feelings, beliefs, behaviour, so you can become more self-aware and achieve greater independence. I will walk alongside you, helping you to realise what resources and support are available to you so that you can use these to work through what is going on for you, build your self-confidence and appreciate that you always have options. I will treat you as the expert on yourself, as no-one else knows what it’s like to be you. I will not judge you and you can feel free and supported to disclose whatever is troubling you.
I work with individuals from many backgrounds within my remote private practice. I offer online and telephone sessions, as I know myself how busy life is and therefore hope this service is accessible for all. I have experience in working with a wide range of common mental health problems, including anxiety and stress, depression, low self-esteem, low self-confidence, self-harm, life changes, family issues, identity and relationship breakdowns. Whatever your circumstances or difficulties, I offer professional counselling and psychotherapy with sensitivity and without judgement.
Training, qualifications & experience
Growing up with a family member with a personality disorder led me here to want to support those struggling with their mental health and the challenges of life. Prior to becoming a therapist, I was a teacher in a primary school and then a teacher in an SEN school for 12 years. I worked alongside CYP and young adults with social, emotional and mental health needs within Specialist Education. This has provided me with experience and understanding of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), Emotional Social Behaviour Difficulties (ESBD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Global Developmental Disabilities, Learning Difficulties, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple and Profound Learning Difficulties, Personality disorder, Juvenile Parkinson's, the impact of social media and covid on mental health and the impact of RTA on people’s lives. Lastly, as a parent of a child on the autistic spectrum and I, myself going through an ADHD diagnosis, I can relate to clients that are too.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
