What can we help with?

Dr. Leanne Johnson and Dr. Anna Risdale are both registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) and we are Chartered Clinical Psychologists with the British Psychological Society (BPS). We have both worked with NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), as well as independent Child Services for many years, gaining further experience, expertise and training in working with children, young people, their families and support systems (e.g. schools). We both work with common mental health difficulties, such as depression, anxiety, OCD, eating difficulties and post-traumatic stress disorder. We also offer assessment and therapeutic support for more specialist areas, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and developmental trauma.

Training, qualifications & experience

Dr Leanne Johnson

I am a Clinical Psychologist with post doctoral experience within child services both within the NHS and in independent settings. Previous to being a Clinical Psychologist, I was a qualified Special Needs Teacher, and continue to enjoy working closely with schools and parents. Since qualification, I have developed a particular expertise in working with children that have suffered trauma and also children who are fostered or adopted (looked after children).  I am trained in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP) and Eye Movement Densensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have most recently been working in residential children's homes, providing consultation to staff teams to support them in implementing a psychological model.

I have the following qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology - University of Southampton
  • Post Graduate Certificate in Education - University of Warwick
  • BSc (Hons) Psychology and Health Science - University of Liverpool

Dr Anna Risdale

I am a clinical psychologist with post doctoral experience within child and adolescent mental health services within the NHS. I have expertise with children and adolescents who are experiencing complex emotional and behavioural difficulties; working closely with families and support networks important in the young person's life. I have expertise in providing specialist diagnostic assessments for young people with suspected Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), as well as intervention with these young people. I have additional training in parenting programmes, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I have the following qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology - University of Southampton
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Mental Health in Primary Care - University of the West of England (UWE)
  • BSc (Hons) Psychology - Cardiff University

We offer a free 10-minute telephone discussion so you are able to discuss your concerns and ensure we are able to help.

We then charge £120 for an initial assessment appointment (90 minutes), which includes a short report following the session.

We then charge £90 per session.  We are also registered with many healthcare providers such as BUPA.
