Thank you for visiting my page. I appreciate that it is not always easy to take those first steps to seek help and my aim is to make our initial conversation (and any subsequent therapy) as welcoming and helpful as possible for you.
I believe that all individuals have the potential for growth and change and, having completed many years of training, my aim is to adapt my therapeutic style in order to achieve the best results for you at this time. We may use:
CBT to gain insight into the thoughts and behaviours that are contributing to your difficulties. CBT is especially good for anxiety, panic disorder, OCD, PTSD and depression
EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) can be highly effective for addressing past traumas or phobias. Attachment-Focused EMDR can help address current emotional reactions that have there roots in childhood experiences.
I also believe in the benefits of Jungian creative play, visualisation techniques and humour to gain insight and create change.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have many years experience of working with clients with a wide range of mental health issues (NHS, MIND, private practice).
I specialise in working with clients with trauma, anxiety disorders, OCD and depression.
I am a fully accredited CBT psychotherapist and Integrative Counsellor and a registered EMDR practitioner. I am also trained in Attachment-Focused EMDR.
