About me
Hello, my name is Joya.
I support adults and young people who struggle to express themselves verbally, helping them find their voice through art. My journey began with many years as a Therapeutic Program Facilitator for the NHS in Specialist Drug and Alcohol Services, where I became deeply interested in the transformative power of art psychotherapy. I saw its potential as a vehicle for change, enabling me to better support and empower clients.
To deepen my skills, I completed a three-year master’s degree in art Psychotherapy, expanding my work with both young people and adults through creative arts. My experience and training provide others with a platform to communicate the unspeakable, to give voice to the soul, and to safely navigate beyond the limitations of words. Art is a powerful tool—it fosters expression, amplifies the voices of the marginalized, and offers a means of self-discovery.
Personally, I have witnessed how art reflects and reshapes our realities. I value its ability to help identify and release trauma, offering a safe and non-destructive way to communicate. I provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace. Here, I hope you feel accepted, heard, and truly understood.
If you would like to learn more about my work and how I can support you, I would love to hear from you.
Best wishes,
Joya

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.
