Joy Hollingsworth - Registered Member MBACP
Hello. My name is Joy. I am a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
I believe that Counselling should be affordable for everyone and therefore charge a fixed fee of £25 per session for individual therapy (reduced to £20 per session for Counselling students) or £30 for couples counselling and corporate organisations. I can now offer Counselling Supervision training for £35 per 1.5 hour session (reduced to £30 for Counselling students).
We all experience problems and dilemmas at some point in our lives. Most times we can find a way through these, but occasionally we can feel overwhelmed, stressed and not sure what to do. At such times, counselling may help. Counselling allows you to explore your feelings and emotions, and reflect on what is currently happening to you. We can explore these issues in a private and non-judgemental way and enable you to identify alternative ways of moving forward with your life in a more positive way.
I am experienced in working with clients on a wide variety of issues, particularly specialising in handling those times when life becomes too much to bear; anxiety/panic attacks; bereavement and loss; family issues; and couples counselling. I principally use two forms of counselling - person centred counselling and cognitive behavioural therapy.
The counselling that I offer is usually open-ended, but can be flexible depending on your needs. It is important to me that you feel valued in the relationship. The building of an equal and trusting relationship is extremely important and I believe that everyone that I work with is an individual and value them as such.
