My name is Joshua and I am a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. I have trained and worked in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in the NHS and offer evidence-based psychotherapy for adults experiencing common mental health difficulties such as; social anxiety, health anxiety, generalised anxiety, depression, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), low self-esteem and trauma (such as; PTSD).
A key part of the therapy I provide, is to help you accept what is out of your personal control, and commit to action that improves your life. It’s a very active form of therapy. It’s not just talking about your problems and feelings. My aim here is to work together as a team, to help you be the sort of person you want to be and build the sort of life you want to live. Part of this approach involves learning skills to handle difficult thoughts and feelings more effectively, so they have less impact and influence over you. I want you to leave after each session with an action plan: something practical to take away and use to actively improve your life.
I am empathic, compassionate and believe in the importance of building a trusting relationship with my clients. I am incredibly passionate about the work I do which is reflected in the high-quality therapy that I provide.

Feedback from previous clients:
I have struggled with my mental health for a long time and after being told I was struggling with anxiety and depression I felt so alone. This led to me feeling the lowest I had ever felt in my life and I knew I needed to get some help. After going through my assessment I started my CBT sessions with Josh and he made me feel comfortable, listened to and that I was not alone. I felt better and better after every session and I cannot thank Josh enough for providing me with the information and tools to be able to accept my anxiety and keep it under control. I no longer feel embarrassed or limited by having anxiety. I have learned how to be more compassionate andvious clients: again this was made possible with Josh’s kindness and support. I could not recommend Josh enough. He is a brilliant therapist and I will forever be grateful for all his help.
I have just completed therapy with Joshua and it has transformed my life - I see things in a completely different way now and am compassionate to myself and my anxiety and others around me - having suffered most of my life with anxiety and having had counselling before, this was a completely different way of dealing with it and seemed the natural way and I have transformed how I deal with my thoughts. This is definitely the best I’ve felt in a very long time and feel I have the tools now to help me if obstacles are in my way again. Joshua is a very compassionate therapist with a soft tone - thank you
