About me
My name is Josie and I am passionate about helping people discover maximum happiness in life.
I offer support on the foundations of a strong therapeutic relationship, based on active listening and collaboration. If we chose to work together I am committed to delivering empathic, non-judgmental, and effective care that supports your individual needs.
I want to enhance your wellbeing by focusing on the issues you want to explore. Together, we can discover your best choices, focus on self-development, healing and growth. My goal is to help you achieve your full potential by being a part of your journey of discovery and self-awareness.
Whether you’re navigating complex issues, facing tough decisions or just feeling a little stuck, talking to someone is almost always the beginning of the answer. So, if you’re seeking a counsellor who can offer both professional support and genuine understanding, I encourage you to reach out.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a trained Humanistic Therapist who works with children and young people as well as adults, specialising in trauma and attachment issues. One of the most powerful tools we have at our disposal is talking, but I am also trained to incorporate play, art, music and drama into the space if desired.
Dedicated and compassionate, I believe in a collaborative approach that is tailored to the needs of each individual and I have experience helping people with countless different issues from anxiety, depression and unprocessed childhood experiences to name but a few.
Specifically, I have over 6 years experience working with vulnerable children and young people in different settings, with a Masters Degree in Child Psychology. However I am passionate about helping people at any stage of life overcome their most difficult challenges.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
