I have been offering therapy remotely for almost two years now and this has been very popular with my clients so I have decided to continue on with this for a little longer. This means you can continue to receive support from the comfort and convenience of your own home either using online Zoom platform or by telephone. Research evidence suggests that the outcome for online/telephone therapy is at least equal to in person counselling.

Choice of Counsellor.
You may be asking what makes me different from other therapists.......
My background had been involved in the business world, I had a great job but I had a deep feeling within that there was more that I wanted to pursue in my career which offered more fulfilment and growth, so this lightbulb moment motivated me to return to study and train as a counsellor/psychotherapist.
Now 12 years on I'm in a job that I love and I use all my life's experiences to enhance my role working with you. I recognise that you are a unique individual and that’s exactly how I aim for our session to be tailored to your individual needs.
I also believe the importance of updating my training yearly with new modalities so that I can offer you a wider choice of treatments, techniques and tools to manage your life more effectively. So I'm please to let you know that I am now an accredited practitioner with EMDR Europe and All-Ireland.
I’m also passionate about mentioning students to support them throughout their studies, please see my special rates below for students as well as for front line workers.
I am accredited with the BACP (British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy) and accredited with EMDR Europe which means that my practice meets the recognised standard for a competent ethical and independent practice where I put clients first and their best interest at the heart of my practice.
What to expect from me your Counsellor
As your counsellor/psychotherapist I would like to help you work through difficult times in a safe, comfortable, confidential, reflective space in a caring non-judgmental environment where you can talk what is troubling you, this will give you the opportunity to think and talk about yourself and concerns in a way you often can't do with family, friends or work colleagues.
Together we can set achievable and measurable goals and whilst there is no magic fix to problems the combination of the right counsellor, with the right therapy and your willingness to change, puts you on the correct path for positive change…and you’ve already taken the most important step by seeking help today.
What is EMDR Therapy?
Are you painfully enslaved by emotional roadblocks and/or poor relationship choices? Unprocessed memories could be the problem and EMDR could be the answer. EMDR is a powerful, scientifically validated process that has helped people reclaim their freedom. I also use EMDR therapy for the treatment of PTSD, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, phobias, addictions to mention but a few. EMDR is an integrative psychotherapy approach that is intrinsically 'Client-Centered' at its core and has been extensively researched and recommended by NICE guidelines. Couple Counselling- Imago Therapy
Relationship disharmony can leave you feeling lonely, sad, disappointed and unsure what to do. In some cases relationships may not be fulfilling your expectations which can impact on your happiness and life satisfaction. Some couples are prone to self-criticism, blame/ shame/defensiveness and they find it difficult to generate feelings of safeness in a relationship, this can lead to anxiety, depression and they feel the only way is to exit the relationship however research shows this is a signal for you to seek help. Relationship counselling is focused primarily on making sure issues are dealt with in a way that supports your health and wellbeing. I will help you explore your needs and wants in a relationship and provide you with a pathway in finding a new way of loving.
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
CBT is a proven success based goal orientated talking therapy which anyone can benefit from as it is easily applied to many everyday situations. I work on the belief that you know how to support yourself and you know how to solve your own problems... however sometimes you may experience unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaving that prevents you from finding solutions to reach your goals and living life as you want to. CBT is highly effective for many disorders, but in particular anxiety and depression which can leave you vulnerable to low self-esteem. CBT is based on the idea that how you feel is directly affected by what you think and how you behave. Here I would support you when you are vulnerable and gently challenge you when you’re stuck.
What do you want out of life?
Everyone wants to be happy and yet much of our time is spent chasing happiness versus being happy, many people are busy being busy but yet never feeling satisfied with life. As we hopefully ease out of the pandemic this may be a good time to reflect and think what is holding me back from reaching my goals, my potential, or you may be thinking of a new career path, furthering your education, raising self-confidence or making changes to your current relationship. Many people know what they don't want in life but they have not set a vision of what they do want. Here I would use coaching techniques to help you to be more creative and challenge yourself - 'what do I want out of life', I then would use the appropriate therapy interventions to facilitate this process, thus giving you hope and freedom to make healthy choices in 2022.
Mindfulness It is so important to keep the mind and body calm by using mindfulness to help you stay in the present. I would teach you how to integrate mindfulness into your daily life which is excellent for stress reduction and anxiety. Mindfulness integrates the heart, mind and body expanding into self-compassion which is the cornerstone of building a sense of courage, resilience, life balance and emotional regulation all of which influences the brain and underpins all my teaching of good mental wellbeing.

Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
