About me

I am a highly experienced Integrative Psychotherapist, and a professionally accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

I have worked succesfully in this field for the last 15 years, specialising in helping people through life transitions that may have caused Anxiety, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Low Self-Esteem, Anger Management, Work Stress and Burn Out, Addiction and Negative Thought/Belief Patterns. I am presently a published author with ‘Hodder & Stoughton’ and ‘Hachette UK’. https://www.hodder.co.uk/books/detail.page?isbn=9781473693234.

I have also been interviewed, quoted and written articles as an expert speaker for The Telegraph, The Independent, Readers Digest, Stylist Magazine, Stella Magazine, You Magazine & Daily Mail.

ABOUT YOU & THERAPY: If we stand back and observe our own lives, we notice that they are full of transitions. These processes of change are inevitable and occur throughout the course of our lives. They may take place when we least expect them, and most of the time we may not even be aware of them when they are occurring, even though they can often reshape the way we think, feel, and behave.  You might feel anxiety, depression, shame, and anger. You might feel stressed out at work, or experience relationship difficulties, an identity crisis, or develop an addiction. Unrecognised or unacknowledged transitions are often at the root of these thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

This is where therapy can often help us to regain some clarity on what can often be a confusing time in our lives. Therapy can help to simplify and solidify some present thoughts or feelings that perhaps seem a little uncertain, and provide you with a real opportunity for personal growth.

ABOUT THE PROCESS:  Throughout our process together I will provide you with guidance and insight that will encourage you to reflect upon who you are today, and help determine where in your life you still seek some clarity or resolution. As your therapist I want to equip you with tools that help provide peace of mind, inner confidence and resilience, a greater personal sense of well-being, and increased self-awareness.

I provide an initial assessment after which you will already have a great insight on the type of work that needs to be done to overcome your present challenges.

MY APPROACH:  My theoretical approaches includes; Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Attachment Theory, Child Developmental Psychology, Existential therapy, CBT, Transpersonal psychology and Psychosynthesis, Rational Emotional Behavioural Therapy, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt, Mindfulness & Guided Meditation & Evolutionary Psychology.

COST & SERVICES: All services below cost £80 per 50 minute session.

TESTIMONIAL: " I came to meet Jonathan following an emotional and physical crisis. Through his caring, non-judgemental, compassionate approach, I have developed an understanding of my emotional history and why my current feelings and behaviour were so confusing. I have come to terms with past events and relationships and can now exist in the present without fear. For the first time in my life, I am in control of me. I cannot recommend Jonathan enough for anyone who is considering counselling or psychotherapy as a way to explore their behaviour and feelings to achieve a happy, confident, present self."
