About me

Welcome to my profile!

I would like this profile to be simple, as I do not think there is any need to confuse people with counseling jargon. I offer a safe, confidential, and professional space for you to come and explore any personal issues/problems you may be experiencing that are stopping you from living your life to its full potential. Sometimes, we prefer not to burden those close to us with our problems, and it is easier to talk to someone with no previous knowledge and no emotional connection with our lives.  This is where counseling comes into its own.

I have a proven track record of helping clients move forward with their lives using a gentle and empathic approach.  You will find on my website a page of testimonials from previous clients I have worked with. I believe this will give you a feel for the way I work.

I offer long and short-term sessions depending on the client's focus. The most important thing to me is that the client experiences non-judgemental therapy – with no blame and no shame.

I offer a free 30-minute assessment in which we can look at your needs and discuss how I work, which will give you a sense of whether or not you wish to pursue further sessions. I work with adults on a one-on-one, face-to-face basis.

I appreciate that making that first step towards talking about personal and private matters can be daunting and worrying. I hope to make this process as simple for you as possible. Searching this directory is a huge step forward, and making that initial call to me will hopefully be the next logical step for you to move forward.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
