About me

My main practitioner training is the BACP-accredited Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling at Manchester University. I can integrate Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). CBT is the preferred method of treatment for anxiety and depression in the National Health Service. More research has been conducted into the effectiveness of CBT than other therapeutic modalities, and the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) recommends it for treatment of anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I am interested in men's issues. Evidence shows that men can struggle with being open about mental health issues and are much less likely than women to seek the help they need.

£50 per one hour session.

Further information

It is important for me to regularly review how the client is experiencing the work. The process also takes place at the end of the work, in the spirit of evaluation. The following are some quotes from previous counselling clients:

“Talking about the issues helped me unravel some of the confusion” Male, 58

“The counselling helped me to be what I want to be, not what I was constrained
to be” Female, 47

“It’s made me a whole person again” Female, 72

“I no longer feel responsible for bad emotions in people around me. I wish I’d known
about counselling years ago” Female, 43

“These sessions have been fantastic and life-changing” Female, 45

“A massive help. I couldn’t have done it alone” Male, 19
