About me
* I will respond to enquiries within 24-48 Hours*
Hello, I'm Jodie. Thank you for viewing my profile, in this moment, when you are seeking support and taking a brave step for you.
Please take some time to read through the information I have detailed below, hopefully it will give you an insight as to what I can offer, there is also a link to my website which you are more than welcome to take a look around and you can get an overview of my therapy room in Pontefract.
If you then feel I may be the right fit for you , all you need to do is just send me an enquiry, so we can plan some time to have a call to talk further about what you are looking for and I can answer any questions you may have. I understand that looking to start counselling can be dauting and reaching out for help can be really difficult. I promise to handle your enquiry sensitively and respond within 24-48 hours.
You may be seeking support for:
- Feeling overwhelmed with panic and anxiety ?
- Overthinking, self-doubt or low self esteem?
- Feelings of not being good enough or fear of rejection?
- Are you noticing repeat behaviours that are starting to impact your day to day life?
- Experiencing low mood and cant understand why?
- Having relationships difficulties with a family member, friend or partner?
- Wanting to come to terms with grief, loss , life changes or the ending of a relationship ?
- Are you getting stuck in negative thought processes and unable to move on ?
When you are stuck and struggling to make sense of what is happening and why? knowing how to move forward, having family and friends trying to support and give advice can be overwhelming. You may not have any-one to talk to, which can be really isolating, reaching out can be really hard and knowing where to start.
Counselling provides a safe space, where you can gain impartial, confidential support to work through your feelings and behaviours without any judgement. Working with your counsellor you will be supported to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours deeper, so you become more aware of who you are and be able to understand yourself better. The counselling process will support you to manage life challenges and day to day life with ease, whilst deepening your self awareness and navigation of your life with more confidence and empowerment to make better life decisions and choices.
About me
In my practice and development, I have worked with a number of professional organisations who provide therapeutic counselling services to people needing support. I am experienced in working with a variety of mental health issues some being bereavement, stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, low mood.
I decided to take all my experience and start to work with clients in my own private practice setting in Pontefract. So far it has been amazing to work with clients face to face in my therapy room and online from across the UK.
I have experience working with individuals providing counselling support face to face, I am also able to provide counselling online or over the phone. I am dedicated in providing a safe space where clients feel enabled to gain better outcomes for managing life experiences. Helping clients to have a clearer understanding of themselves, to be able to feel more in control of taking positive steps for their future.
I am qualified Counsellor at Mind Matters Counselling UK (Pontefract). I work with a Person Centred & Relational approach to therapy which supports me to be more flexible with the methods used for individual experiences.
I am a registered member of the BCAP, which is one the largest leading organisations for counselling and Psychotherapy in the UK.
Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I hope to hear from you.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
