My Profile
I am qualified Counsellor & Partner at Mind Matters Counselling UK (Pontefract). I work with a Person Centred & Relational approach to therapy which supports me to be more flexible with the methods used for individual experiences
I want to share that my counselling approach can support you to work through, Anxiety, Stress, Low mood, Grief, Depression, Low self-confidence, struggling with relationships or having issues sleeping.
In my practice and development, I have worked with a number of professional organisations who provide therapeutic counselling services to people needing support. I worked with a variety of mental health issues some being bereavement, stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, low mood.
I decided to take all my experience and start to work with clients in my own private practice setting in Pontefract. So far it has been amazing to work with clients face to face in my therapy room and online, from across the UK. I am very aware that my role as partner and counsellor at Mind Matters counselling UK is a real privilege, as I get to work with people who are in their most vulnerable place and support them, to find a new empowerment, control, awareness and happiness.
Our goal at Mind Matters Counselling UK, is to make sure that every interaction and counselling process, is done with ethical standards, client safety and integrity to achieve therapeutic positive experiences.
I am also a very proud registered member of the BCAP, which is one the largest leading organisations for counselling and Psychotherapy in the UK. I work in line with their ethical guidelines, which includes, ongoing training, regular supervision, providing client safety.
What I can offer you
Counselling provides a safe space, where you can gain impartial, confidential, support to work through your feelings and behaviours without any judgement. Working with you, to support you to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours deeper, so you become more aware of who you are and be able to understand yourself better.
The counselling process will support you to manage life challenges and day to day life with ease, whilst deepening your self-awareness and navigation of your life with more confidence and empowerment to make better life decisions and choices.
I have experience working with individuals providing counselling support face to face, online or over the phone. I am dedicated in providing a safe space where clients feel enabled to gain better outcomes for managing life experiences. Helping clients to have a clearer understanding of themselves, to be able to feel more in control of taking positive steps for their future.

Training, qualifications & experience
Diploma of Higher Education in Therapeutic Counselling.
Certificate in Online and Telephone Counselling - ACTO, NCPS, CT accredited.
Foundation Certificate - Awareness in Bereavement Care - Cruse Bereavement Care.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

We require proof from you such as a student union card or letter, or email from the Department for Work and Pensions, in order for you to access the low income service.
