About me

Are you feeling anxious, stressed, lost or stuck? Perhaps you feel you are lacking connection & feeling unheard? We all experience times in life when we may benefit from some guidance and to feel truly heard. I have worked in the mental health sector for over 8 years and completed over 2000 therapeutic hours.

Areas I work with:

- Anxiety including Social Anxiety and Panic
- Anger
- Trauma (including complex trauma)
- Depression and Low Mood
- Low Self-Esteem/Confidence
- Body Image Difficulties
- Loss/Bereavement/Grief
- Eating Difficulties
- Relationship/Family Difficulties
- Long-Term Illness
- Stress including work related stress/Burnout
- Rumination/Overthinking

- I work with individuals with Autism and ADHD who have been diagnosed later in life and the impacts of this.

If you're exploring being diagnosed with Autism and/or ADHD later in life, it can be a life-changing experience bringing up some anxieties, and it's understandable that you may want to reflect on its impact and what the next steps might be. This revelation can bring a sense of clarity but also raise new questions about how to move forward.

My work with you as a counsellor

I work as an integrative therapist with my core modality being person centred, which means different counselling tools and techniques can be drawn upon and utilised in our sessions should this suit your individual needs. Sometimes in life we feel judged, and feel unheard by those around us, and so I believe offering a safe space, providing honesty, transparency and empathy can be a powerful tool in itself.

As I believe everyone is unique, during our initial sessions, we can delve into the difficulties at hand and work together to explore ways to address these difficulties to help empower you.

I work with individuals 18+.

I also offer couples/relationship counselling.

I offer face to face and online therapy.

Huyton/Knowsley/Liverpool area & Online.

Background

My background includes working in residential care homes supporting adults with long-term mental health difficulties and learning disabilities, working within the NHS as a health care assistant, working as a home care support worker for older adults, and working for many years therapeutically for 3 different children and young persons services, including supporting children & families in the care system. I now work privately with adults 18+ therapeutically, face to face and online. I work with a lot of adults who have been diagnosed later in life with Neurodivergence and the impacts of this.

Please feel free to contact me to ask any questions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
