Sometimes, what has felt manageable becomes unmanageable. Perhaps a long-existing problem has become too much to bear alongside other life issues.
Or perhaps a recent event has completely overwhelmed you and you are struggling to cope. If any of this sounds familiar, I hope I can help.
If you are feeling anxious or depressed, or if you are struggling with loss and the challenges that brings - the death of someone important to you; the loss of a job and associated loss of identity and security; the ending of a relationship which may have resulted in you losing self-confidence or faith in others; the loss of pleasure and joy in small things - then it might be time to talk to someone trained to listen.
I’ve been a counsellor for ten years and have worked within the NHS and in private practice. I work with people who have a range of emotional and mental health issues and am experienced in liaising with GPs and other health care professionals. I specialise in bereavement work, particularly in complex grief, which may arise after a sudden or out-of-time death or when a death occurs alongside pre-existing problems.
You may have lived with sadness, anxiety or a diminished sense of self for a short time or a lifetime. If now feels like the moment to begin to explore these feelings, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
