About me

My personal experiences of social anxiety, anxiety and low self-esteem, enables me to understand and show empathy to you, so that we can work together to improve your well being and mental health. It took me a long time to find my voice and understand who I am and It is these personal experiences from the past that allow me to understand how you and other people might be feeling in social situations e.g the fear of having to walk into somewhere new, or into a group of people you have never met before, or even shaking when having to speak and the anxiety this causes, sometimes for me it was so fearful that I would 'run away'. You might be someone that needs a self-esteem 'boost' to feel brave in having a voice, in order to feel ok when having an opinion, or needing to 'stick up for yourself'. You might also be someone suffering with depression and this is something I can support you with to improve your well being and mental health.

I have grown over the years and I am passionate about supporting others with these symptoms through my counselling work and I do understand. I have an informal and friendly approach and I will support you and work with you by providing a safe, confidential space for you to reflect, grow and learn.

I am based in two offices, either at 37a Clarence Street, SS1 1BH, situated 5 minutes walk from Southend central station and 45 minutes from London Fenchurch Street and Communications House, 40 Weir Pond Road, Rochford, SS4 1AH.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
