About me

Hello and welcome. I offer a calming environment for therapy, informal and inviting, helping you to feel at ease.

The 'Psych' of Psychotherapy is often translated as 'the mind' and includes feelings and emotions.  Indeed Psychotherapy and Counselling may be described as

'a personal relationship with a professional person in which one can share and explore the nature of their troubles'

With my training in Attachment Theory, up to Masters Degree level, I offer a supportive 'secure base' within our therapeutic relationship.

Here at Harmony Therapy, I offer the opportunity for you to gain insight and self awareness thus 'clearing the way' so you can focus more clearly and decide what to do through your process of problem solving.  I endeavour to support you in exploring your problems, defining your goals and helping you clarify how you might achieve this.

I provide a safe, effective and gentle approach to support you and be alongside you on your journey in therapy.  Your thoughts and feelings will be heard and accepted without judgement and at your own pace.  Confidentiality is of the utmost importance.

Children and young adults do not always relish the thought of 'talking things through' and as such I additionally offer more creative means of exploring difficulties.  Particular challenges for children and young adults which I can support exploration of include:

Coping with change

Feeling overwhelmed

Difficulties in relationships

Problems at school

Please feel free to contact me if you would like to know more or wish to take advantage of the free of charge initial consultation.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
