How are you feeling?
Are you having panic attacks or suffering from anxiety or generalised anxiety disorder? This can have an effect on the way you are sleeping whether its getting off to sleep or waking in the night.
Are you struggling with feeling sad or depression with everything that is constantly changing in the world at present? You may feel like you are not in control of things in your life.
Do you feel anxious and is it the thought of coming out of lock down bringing up old worries and panic about how the future will be.
You may feel overwhelmed and flooded with negative thoughts and is it causing you to feel exhausted as your not able to switch off?
All these feeling a normal at present and at anytime and sharing these feelings with someone who will listen will help.
How I can help?
I will ask you what you need or want from counselling and we will work together on that. We will work together to find out what is causing you upset, stress or any other feelings that don't feel right. By exploring how you feel it can be helpful to identify what changes you would like to make in your life that will make you feel better in all areas of your life.
It may be that you want to talk about how your feeling with someone who isn't your family or friends as you fear being judged or told what to do. This can really helpful because it gives you the opportunity to talk through what is troubling you with someone who will listen, understand not judge you in anyway. It gives you the time and space to work through, what is causing you to not feel good about yourself or your situation.
I have lived experience of anxiety and I understand how it can have a major negative affect on all areas of your life. Seeking out therapy, helped me to explore why I was anxious and it helped me to accept that anxiety is normal this helped stop letting anxiety stop me from doing and achieving anything I set my mind to doing.
I help people who are struggling with Anxiety, panic attacks or phobias. I have a really in depth understanding of how it feels to be stuck in uncomfortable feelings and thought cycles.
In addition to counselling I offer a toolbox of strategies for you to try, which help to lower general anxiety levels which will improve sleep problems and feelings of panic and overwhelm.
What to expect in your first session
I aim to put you at ease straight away, We will talk through how counselling works and what you want to get out of it. We will discuss difficulties you are experiencing and what you would like to change or get from the counselling sessions. I work in Person-centred way which means I encourage you to bring what you want to each session and I will work with you to help you to uncover what is causing you to feel not quite yourself or causing you discomfort or pain in your life.
I have a very easy going personality and I work in a professional manner and to offer a confidential space where you will not judged in anyway. I don't offer you answers to your problems, as I believe that you are the person who knows yourself the best but I do help you to find the solutions that are right for you. Alongside the counselling sessions I do have a toolbox of strategies that I offer which help ease anxiety and panic attacks.
Talking to a professional counsellor about how you are feeling can seem a daunting and scary experience. These feeling are perfectly natural as its about finding the right counsellor for you.

Alongside this, I have worked for a child bereavement agency who offer parents and family members supportive and caring time to talk through a painful and unimaginable loss. This can provide a person the space and time to talk through their grief with someone who will listen and not rush or judge them in anyway.
I have experience of working with a charity that helps family members who are affected by a loved one who misuses Alcohol or drugs. This can cause some people to feel ashamed and depressed or anxious as they try to support their family member.
I have training in helping people who have suffered from trauma from a childhood hood experiences who are suffering from ongoing anxiety and discomfort in their lives. I am trained in the rewind technique which is used in treating PTSD, phobias and trauma.
I offer free Rewind sessions for ex military service men or women who are affected by flashbacks and unwanted memories.
I have undertaken a professional qualification in online and telephone counselling.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Concessions offered for
I charge £40 per 50 minutes session which are held on zoom or by telephone. I review my pricing annually in January and give one months notice of any price increases.
I have availability during the day and in the evenings my last appointment is at 7pm. I also offer Saturday morning appointments.
I am now offering Covid safe face to face counselling sessions in addition to my telephone and online sessions.
