A little about me, to help you decide if I meet your requirements:

I am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) Practitioner. I specialise in trauma work and low self esteem, although have experience of treating numerous issues. I have significant experience of working in the field of mental health, spanning almost twenty years. I have worked in a wide range of settings including residential, for people with mental health problems and learning disabilities early in my career. I trained in social work, specialising in mental health and have worked in high-security settings as well as community-based services. More recently I have experience of working in two third sector providers.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a core profession in mental health social work and am an accredited Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist. I am a trained clinical supervisor and have experience of managing a small team of psychotherapists.

I offer therapy for the following issues:

Low Self-Esteem
Health Anxiety
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder
Social Anxiety
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Generalised Anxiety Disorder

I also run a Self-Esteem Group which is a seven session programme and can cater for up to a maximum of eight participants.

I also offer a consultancy service for companies.

British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies

The BABCP is the lead organisation for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK.

Membership is open to anyone with an interest in the practice, theory or development of CBT. BABCP also provides accreditation for CBT therapists.

BABCP accredited members adhere to the Standards of Conduct, Performance and Ethics in the Practice of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies, and are willing to be scrutinised in this adherence as required.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.
