You have taken the first step, that is often the hardest but most important. Finding a therapist is a good place to start. Recognising the need for something to change can be difficult. Reaching out and starting to talk about what may be causing you turmoil, impacting on your day to day and stopping you moving forward is simply one of the hardest things to do.
My name is Joanne and I am an Integrative Accredited Counsellor and Counsellor Supervisor. I provide weekly sessions to help you explore what is troubling you, explore relationships, recover, regenerate and help you to gain a deeper understanding of you, your relationship and how you navigate through life. Working with couples and individuals, by providing an opportunity to work through anything that might be troubling you, any difficulties you may be facing or experiences you have had that are impacting on you. Helping you to gain a better understanding of your patterns, thoughts and feelings which helps you to decide what you want for you.
I have a wide range of experience, my aim is to work collaboratively with you to make sense of your world and what is causing you any anxiety and stress. Therapy provides an opportunity to explore thoughts, feelings and allows us to unpick our behaviours and actions. Sometimes people encounter difficulties in life that they are not able to share with someone they know, this can be overwhelming. Leaving us with difficulty uncontrollable thoughts and feelings which can be triggered by any number of life experiences such as:

Many people seek counselling as they may be feeling overwhelmed or need someone outside of their family/friends to talk to. People access counselling for a variety of reasons. Sometimes things seem unmanageable, issues have built up or you may want to unravel/understand thoughts and feelings that you have had for a long time.
I also provide supervision for qualified Counsellors and student counsellors.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Followed by phone contact, sessions are booked at a regular time and last 50 minutes.

I offer a confidential, non judgemental, empathetic service which is tailored to meet your requirements and help you cope with any challenges/distress you may have experienced or are facing. Working Integratively means I can use a range of therapeutic approaches to assist you, CBT, Humanisic and Psychodynamically all are talking therapies and work fantastically well and form the Intergative approach.
