About me

I am an experienced, fully qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist. I work with Couples, offering couple relationship counselling and with individuals offering psychodynamic psychotherapy, which can be short interventions or longer term counselling.

Feelings of anxiety, sadness, depression or mixed emotions can be talked about in a totally confidential setting.

I specialise in problems with relationships, whether that be with a partner, parent or with a colleague..We can work together on psychosexual issues in a therapeutic and safe environment.

I find that issues with communication can often be the thing that brings people to therapy. In my work with individuals and couples, I focus on everyday interactions and conflicts, recurrent behaviour patterns, and the links to the past which help to understand them. Together we explore the conscious dynamics at play and listen for the less conscious material which might emerge and enable you to move on.

Weekly sessions take place in a comfortable and safe environment, where mutual trust allows words to be spoken and fears, often hidden, to be overcome.

I offer weekly sessions currently in Old Street, East London. A short walk from Old street tube and online via Zoom.

Training, qualifications & experience

I trained at Tavistock Relationships (TR) in London as a relationship counsellor, there I gained a post-graduate diploma in psychodynamic psychotherapy for individuals and couples.

I then went on to gain a Masters (MA) in psychodynamic psychotherapy for couples. During this intensive training and becoming a fully qualified couple psychotherapist and relationship counsellor I gained knowledge and experience in working with psychosexual issues in individuals and couple relationships. I am a fully qualified psychosexual therapist and member of COSRT.

I am a fully registered member of BACP and adhere to their code of ethics and confidentiality.

I work in private practice and at Tavistock Relationships, in central London, as a staff clinician.

I am also able to offer Mentalization based therapy for clients that may benefit from a shorter time-limited therapeutic approach. I am able to offer on line therapy for couples and individuals via Skype and Zoom.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
