Joanna Buglass. BSc (Hons). AdvDip. Registered Member BACP
At times we all need a safe harbour, a place to pause and reflect on our lives. The name of my practice is ‘Space to Breathe’ for this very reason. At Space to Breathe my aim is to hear and value every person, to help you achieve your goals and discover your potential. Supporting people in the difficulties of life to heal and know that you are not alone. Helping clients experiencing the challenges of mental health issues to overcome and be free to live a fulfilling life.
I am a fully qualified counsellor and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Following completion of the Advanced Diploma in Counselling I continued to gain experience as a volunteer counsellor with the charity UCHM Huddersfield. I have since gone on to launch Space to Breathe, a small private counselling practice in the Bingley area.
I offer affordable 1:1 counselling in a safe and confidential environment for as long as each individual client needs. I offer counselling for individuals aged 18 and over.
I offer both short and long term counselling, depending on what is right for you. I would initially contract for six sessions and after this time we would review and agree how you would like to move forwards.
I work in an integrative way, mainly using a person centered approach with psychodynamic insight; however I also draw on additional tools such as mindfulness, gestalt, transactional analysis (TA), and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) depending on what is best suited to your needs. I am able to offer spiritual understanding rooted in my own Christian beliefs. Faith in-put in your counselling is optional and if this is something you would like, this can be discussed in our first session.
