About me

Hello I am an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist working in South London. I am based in Camberwell, but cover areas such as Peckham, Brixton, Dulwich and SE1. I offer both short (6-12 sessions) and longer-term counselling and psychotherapy to individuals, and I am happy to arrange home visits for elderly and disabled people. I use the Psychodynamic psychoanalytical approach which embraces all therapies. I also use CBT and Mindfullness techniques to change behaviour. My aim of is to - help individuals to unravel, how their experience and understand their true, deep-rooted feelings in order to help resolve them.

People come to Counselling and Psychotherapy for a number of different reasons. You may be anxious, feeling depress, low or trying to cope with the loss of a partner or family member, the breakdown or difficulty of a relationship, issues at work such as work related stress, learning related condition ie dyslexia trying to make sense of something that has happened or those questioning their sexuality and any other personal reason. I work with clients’ to help them understand and explore how what has happened in the past can influence the here and now.

I offer a safe and emphatic space to explore your feelings, beliefs, thoughts and experiences.  In a comfortable and confidential setting we can talk about how I can help you build on your strengths and discover new ways to manage what is troubling aspects of your life.  I have specialised in the areas of mental health, loss and bereavement and supporting carers for eg. partners and close family of those with health problems eg. disabilities, mental health. I have also worked with clients adults and young people on a wide range of other issues including low-self-esteem,  complex behavioral traits such as OCD, interpersonal relationships, bullying and harassment, sexual abuse, long-term illnesses, alcohol and drug addictions,attachment, survivors of suicide, life transitions and other major life events.

Sometimes taking that first step can be difficult I will do everything I can to make it easier for you. I believe that counselling can help gain your confidence back and transform you so that you can feel more whole again and obtain a real sense of inner contentment. Talking therapies allows a person to talk about their problems and feelings in a confidential and safe environment.

Training, qualifications & experience

MA Counselling. University of Goldsmith 2012

The curriculum focused on psychodynamic and psychoanalytic perspective. The course covered theories of understanding mental health, stress and anxiety, phobias depression, post-natal depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, dementia and eating disorders. It was designed to enable students to develop as a  reflective practitioner with a critical understanding and awareness of the socio-cultural and power relations.

BA ( Hons) Social and Cultural Studies, University of Goldsmith 2008

This unique degree gave me the opportunity to study a wide variety of subjects focused around   the study of society and culture, including sociology,  media and communications, politics, and education.

£40.00 per session. Concessions for Students £30.00 and discounts for low-income email or contact me to discuss. An initial assessment is required so that I can make an assessment of your presenting issues and we can decide on the goals of counselling you want to work on in the future. The assessment will also enable you to get a feel of what counselling involves and it will give you the opportunity to ask me any questions or concerns that you have.

All sessions must be paid for at the agreed rate for the agreed amount of sessions
