About me

EquineEARTH offers equine therapy to children, teenagers and adults experiencing a variety of challenges.

My small herd are very intuitive, picking up on areas of need in the first meeting and reflecting it back through their body language. From this point, a personal therapy package will enable individuals to gain a deeper understanding of themselves and to reach a healthier lifestyle through activities and a relationship with a pony or ponies.

I also offer drawing and talking for children and walk and talk for anyone who prefers art or therapy sessions outside.

Counsellors and therapists can hire my site for outdoor therapy ( with or without the herd).

Please see further details on my website.

Training, qualifications & experience

I gained a degree in graphic art at Corsham Academy of Art in 1983.

I became SENCO in a mainstream primary school for 9 years and realised the huge healing effect ponies had on children's self-esteem, when taking a group out for a riding lesson.

I have 37 years of personal experience with caring for my own herd of native ponies.

I trained as a psychodynamic counsellor and I am an accredited member of BACP.

I gained a certificate in EFP in 2013 and set up EquineEARTH in 2018.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I work with most areas of difficulty. However, if an area of need arises, which is outside my experience, clients will be referred to a specialist. Equine therapy can be resumed after specialised intervention.
