About me

Hello and welcome to Sage Therapy

I am an experienced integrative counsellor, this means I draw upon a range of methods to suit each individual to help deal with what is going on for you at this point in your life, helping you to make sense of it all and figure out how to move on from where you are in your life, to serve you well from this point forward.

sometimes life can leave you feeling like everything is a struggle, busy lives can lead you to forget about taking care of yourself.

You may be experiencing symptoms of anxiety/low mood, or struggling with self esteem or coping mechanisms that you developed along the way may be holding you back.

Perhaps its an accumulation of life stuff that has happened over a period of time that has had an effect on your mental well being and how you go about your days.

I can help support you in Building better boundaries and learn what you need for you to grow and go forwards in your life, in a safe space free from judgement.

Becoming resilient:

Resilience can be defined as your ability to flexibly adapt to challenging, adverse and traumatic event in our lives. The ability to 'bounce back' from traumatic life events is based upon the capability at the time of the event to process the emotions connected to it, this is something we don't always get an opportunity to do. Resilience is not a trait you have or don't have, it is a set of strategies that can be learned and practised.

in our work together I will aim to:

  • Build your resources and help you to focus on your strengths
  • increase distress tolerance
  • offer a safe space to reprocess trauma and its cause and effect.
  • To support you to encompass a new and active role in your own personal growth and healing.

Family Tree:

We will take a look into your family history and take a look at the inter-generational aspect of behaviours that are and how there may have been patterns playing all throughout your family history.

The past can often affect the present without us being fully aware of it.

I offer a safe empathetic space, free from judgement for you to discover your inner strengths that maybe hidden, sometimes in life we don't realise just how strong we are until we make time to discover it.

I work both online and from my room in Kensington.

I also offer Walk and talks in Bushy and richmond park.

Training, qualifications & experience

Talking with a skilled professional about what is going on for you can open a new doorway into your life, leading to a new perspective and new way of being in your world.

With a Diploma in Integrative Counselling and psychotherapy I have worked for numerous charities, Together (working for well-being), The Place2be, Integrated neurological services and Hounslow youth counselling service.

With over 20 years experience in the field of mental health, I have extensively trained in the field of trauma and developmental trauma, I have a keen interest in the somatic experience and work in a way of supporting both mind and body. using breath work and movement to help sooth the central nervous system, giving you the tools to take away and work on yourself. I experience in the field of early childhood trauma and abuse, training in Complex Trauma and PTSD. Learning to help sooth and regulate your system is an important tool to have.

Survival mode should not be set as default in your system,  I can teach you how to acknowledge this and slowly and gently bring your system back to where it feels safe again.

Mental health is health at its very core, yet it is often overlooked by the many. Holding potentially damaging feelings in, is ultimately stifling yourself.

My belief is if you look after your mental health your physical health will naturally improve and you will begin to grow to the very best of your potential, Nurturing both your mind and body and learning to begin again from this point forward gaining a new more nourishing perspective for yourself.

"The past has no power to stop you from being present now. Only your grievance about the past can do that." (Eckhart Tolle)

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

sometimes life can throw things at us that can leave us feeling bewildered and a little bit lost. At these times it can be the hardest for us to admit to ourselves that we may be stuck in a situation

in my practice I work in a way so you can gain acceptance and clarity of your situation, to support you in moving forward in your life

Mindfulness meditation for clients that suffer with anxiety.

Anxiety is where your thoughts take over and become all consuming which can affect your day to day living in a negative way. Mindfulness allows you to begin to be in control, clearing the mind and in time channeling your thought path in a more positive manner. You control your mind, it doesn’t control you.

Early childhood trauma.

As much as we may fantasise about our childhoods being fantastic, none of us come unscathed by what may have been in the past growing up.

We all have a story to make sense of, perhaps patterns of behaviour that are unhealthy and unhelpful for you in your adult life? I offer a safe space for you to open up and understand what is going on for you in the present, that may relate to your past.

Acceptance to move on.

Throughout my career what i notice is the majority can speak their story, yet the struggle is to accept and let go.

In my methods I will support you in gaining insight and strength to move forward in a more hopeful and positive perspective.

“To live is to suffer, to survive is to find meaning in the suffering.” (Friedrich Nietzsche).

You don’t have to do it on your own.
