About me

I am a fully qualified and experienced psychotherapist and supervisor offering a warm, thoughtful and professional approach to individual and couples counselling, psychotherapy and supervision. I have extensive skills and experience in working with attachment and relationship issues, shame and self criticism, anger management, bereavement and grief, perfectionism & OCD, anxiety, depression, panic attacks and PTSD among many others.

I have been a practicing therapist since 2005 and have helped hundreds of people to make significant and lasting changes in their lives. Most of my work is with individuals, and I am happy to provide an assessment and talk you through your options. I also have significant experience of working with couples. If you are having a rough patch in your relationship and want a safe space to work through your current difficulties, strengthen your capacity for good effective communication and deepen your capacity for intimacy and independence then contact me for more information or to book an appointment.

I work by exploring both your past and present experiences of your self and others, so that you can be empowered to take charge of your emotions, heal old wounds, rediscover a sense of calm and create more satisfying relationships in the present. I also practice EMDR, a NICE approved therapy intervention which has proven to be successful in the treatment of PTSD and other mental health difficulties.

I am a Provisional Teaching and Supervising Transactional Analyst ( PTSTA) and have a PGCE in Clinical Supervision from the University of Central Lancashire to work with counsellors and therapists to help you grow and develop both personally and professionally in your work.

I became a therapist following my own powerful personal journey of change. As a result of these experiences, I am passionate about the potential of therapy to help us lead more meaningful and emotionally satisfying lives, with greater richness and vitality.

'And the day came when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom'
( Anais Nin).

I offer a free 30 minute (or one hour payable at half my normal fee) initial consultation to individuals to help you decide if therapy is the way forward. I charge my full fee for couples.

Accessibility

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.

I work in an office in my garden so there are no stairs but a garden path you would need to cross.
